Wiper Blade Coil Corrosion Problems and Solutions

Corrosion Resistant

The reality is that this solution is not as simple as it seems, and there are several issues that can result from changing to all stainless components.

A quality coil coating is one way to solve the corrosion issue while maintaining system performance. A number of options are available including electro-deposition and baked phenolic. While the coil coating costs more than a bare coil, it is often the best option for a corrosion-resistant system.

The wiper blade element must be able to stand up to the harshest seasonal climates and environmental conditions. Standard natural rubber is a popular choice for the element due to its flexibility, durability and resistance to UV and ozone. However, it is also susceptible to a number of problems that can lead to poor wiper performance, such as streaking or skipping.

A metal wiper frame can be constructed to prevent corrosion while still providing good wiper blade performance. Stainless steel can be used for the frame hinges, and the squeegee can use a flexible metal wiper blade that will not scratch the windshield or leave behind marks. This type of wiper blade also comes in different sizes to fit different wiper arm styles, and is suitable for a variety of vehicles.

High Elasticity

A windshield wiper is a metal arm that swings and scrapes water or other precipitation off the front glass of a vehicle. The driver circuit 48 then energizes the relay coil 220 to operate the wiper motor for one cycle of operation each time a driver signal is received.

When the mode selector switch 200 is turned to the INTERMITTENT operating mode, the movable contact 212 of the wiper relay moves into contact with terminal M and connects it to the earth terminal E via resistors R10 – R22′ and diodes ZD2 and ZD3. The potential at the charge detector terminal Hardened & Tempered Steel Strip Supplier T6 remains above a predetermined value. Therefore, the movable contact 212 of a wiper relay connected to the battery 206 is energized and the auxiliary windings 262 are activated to drive the motor.
